I do two things at your wedding, and the combination is rare: I work as a photojournalist, and I bring a full studio to you. Costa Rica gives us extraordinary light, and I know how to use it, I have been doing it for 20 years. My foundation is photojournalism. Multiple times published in The New York Times, I work the way a reportage photographer works: fast, precise, unobtrusive. No staging, no directing, I document the day as it actually happens, and the result looks like your day because it is your day. Then, when the moment calls for it, I switch gears completely: I bring a full studio to you. Professional strobes and modifiers, set up on the beach, in the jungle, on the villa terrace, the control and polish of a studio shoot, outdoors, with the landscape as your backdrop. Most wedding photographers cannot do that. I do it every week. That mix is the point. Real, unscripted coverage of the story, and crafted, studio-quality light for the photographs you frame and keep. Few photographers do either well. I do both, at the same wedding. I also fly a drone, coastlines, canopies, your venue framed in the landscape. Integrated into the coverage. Photojournalism for the story. Studio light for the portraits. A drone for the scale and original angles.
