Crissorama Wedding Photography

I photograph destination weddings across Costa Rica and Barcelona with an editorial & documentary photography approach that’s calm, observant, and gently directed when needed. The approach combines documentary wedding photography with a refined editorial eye. Instead of turning the day into a long photo session, Christopher works quietly around what is already happening: the nervous energy before the ceremony, the people you love arriving from far away, the small gestures you may miss, the chaos, the laughter and the atmosphere that made the celebration yours. Crissorama photographs in digital and analog film, including 35mm and medium format, creating galleries that feel natural, layered and timeless. Coverage can include the wedding day, welcome dinners, beach days, family gatherings, proposals and intimate elopements. Based in Costa Rica and working seasonally in Europe, Crissorama is especially suited to destination weddings where place, people and experience matter as much as the schedule. Travel throughout Costa Rica is part of the experience, with local knowledge of weather, light, venues and remote locations helping couples create a celebration deeply connected to the country.

Your wedding is really about the people who travel all the way to Costa Rica to be with you. Before the day, I take time to learn who matters most to you and how everyone fits together. I want to know who is likely to cry during the vows and which friend will pull your dad onto the dance floor. On the wedding day, that knowledge helps me be in the right place when those moments happen. I photograph in a documentary style, so I don't spend your day posing you. I follow what is really happening and let things happen on their own. After the wedding, I turn those photographs into albums and wall art that honor your relationships. Digital files are nice to have, but a printed album is something you will pick up and share with your family for years. I have lived and worked in Costa Rica for more than 20 years, first in Manuel Antonio and now in Tamarindo. I know the venues, beaches, light, and weather across Guanacaste and the Pacific coast. That local experience means you can enjoy your day while I take care of the details that affect your photographs.

Planning a wedding in Costa Rica?

  • How far in advance should I book wedding vendors in Costa Rica?

Most couples book key vendors — such as venues, photographers, and planners — 9 to 18 months before their wedding date. Popular seasons and weekend dates can fill quickly, so early inquiries give you more flexibility.
  • How much does a wedding in Costa Rica typically cost?

Wedding costs vary based on guest count, venue type, and vendor selection. Comparing local vendors and services can help you estimate a realistic budget before booking.
  • How do I choose the right wedding venue?

Start with your guest count and budget. Then consider the atmosphere you want — indoor or outdoor, modern or historic, waterfront or garden. Filtering by category makes it easier to narrow your options.
  • Can I plan a destination wedding in Costa Rica?

Yes. Many couples plan from out of town and work with local vendors who understand the area, venues, and seasonal considerations.
  • How do I contact wedding vendors?

Each vendor listing includes a button to send a direct message. Sharing your wedding date and guest count helps vendors respond more quickly.
